2025 Annual Juried Art Exhibition

Eligibility: The exhibition is open to artists 18 years or older. All work must be original in concept, design and execution. No commercial molds or kits will be accepted. Students must not present work for consideration if assisted in any way in arrangement or execution. Artwork must have been completed in the last 5 years and not exhibited at any previous M.A.G. juried show. M.A.G. reserves the right to reject artwork deemed not an original or inappropriate. Damaged work will not be accepted.

Artwork Categories: An exhibitor may enter up to three pieces in any medium, distributed in any way. The five categories are:

1. Drawing: Charcoal, Pen & Ink, Graphite, Pastel, Colored Pencil

2. Oil and Acrylic: Oil, Acrylics, executed in the manner of oil painting.

3. Water Media: Single medium used in an aqueous manner.

4. Miscellaneous: Mixed Media, Collage, Fiber, Glass, Printmaking

5. Three-Dimensional: Works/Sculpture

Awards: Best of Show: $300.00, 1st Place: $100.00, 2nd Place: $75.00, 3rd Place: $50.00

Note: At least 10 pieces must be entered in a category in order for a cash award to be given in that category. Merit Awards at the discretion of the Judge.

Preparation of artwork: Size of work is limited to no larger than 36” x 48” in size (including frame). Any work that is to be hung, including three-dimensional works, must be appropriately framed and wired, and strong enough to support the piece.1 ½ inch minimum museum wrapped canvas/cradle board with finished/painted edges is acceptable. Artwork labels will be provided when delivered at the gallery. A maximum of 130 pieces will be selected for the exhibit. No sawtooth hangers, Paintings must be dry and cradle board sides must be painted and finished.

Entry Fee: Early bird registration: a fee of $13.00 per entry mailed on or before July 16, 2025, with entry form provided. Entries submitted without payment or postmarked after July 16 will be at a cost of $15.00 per entry and can be paid the day you deliver your paintings. All entry fees are Non-refundable. Delivery Schedule & Accepted Artwork: Both M.A.G. MEMBERS ARTWORK and NON-M.A.G. MEMBERS ARTWORK Must be delivered on: Fri, Aug 8 (5-7pm), Sat, Aug 9 (1-5pm)

Deliver your work to Miamisburg Art Gallery, 16 N. Main St., Miamisburg, OH 45342. Artwork juried into the show will be listed on the M.A.G. website: www.miamisburgartgallery.com on Wednesday, August 13th Artwork not accepted into the show may be picked up at the gallery Aug 17 - 24 during regular business hours. A sign out sheet will be provided on each pickup day. Accepted artwork may be picked up after the show on Sunday, September 7th from 1:00 PM -5:00 PM. NO ARTWORK WILL LEAVE THE GALLERY ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW. 

Judge – Bob Coates Bob creates artwork with many materials, including clay, bronze, mixed media, and found objects. He paints, draws, and sculpts...and dances and sings as he works happily. Much of his inspiration comes from personal experiences, the environment, and cultures from around the world. Prehistoric art, American Indian cultures, surrealism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, mythology, as well as many other influences are reflected in his work. Human faces and figures are always starting points when he is creating. The figures display attitudes, represent myths, and tell stories. He says his favorite piece is always the one he is currently working on. Bob holds a MFA in Painting from University of Pennsylvania, and is a retired Professor from Sinclair College.  He is a member of the Dayton Society of Artists, the Contemporary Dayton, and the Springfield Museum of Art.

Liability and Sales: Miamisburg Art Gallery assumes no responsibility for damage or theft during the exhibit. Artists are urged to insure their work for sale. Any work not priced will be marked “Not for Sale”. Miamisburg Art Gallery commission is 10% on all sold artwork.
