ABOUT THE JUROR

Bruce W. Pepich is the Founding Director Emeritus of the Racine Art Museum (RAM) in Wisconsin. He recently celebrated his 50th anniversary of working at RAM and its Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts campus. In the 1990s, he assembled one of the most significant contemporary craft collections found in any art museum in North America. He opened RAM in 2003 in downtown Racine as a second campus that is home to this collection. During his time at the museum, he has grown the collection from 326 artworks to over 14,000 pieces. He currently serves as Consultant for Permanent Collection Projects at RAM.

Pepich has curated exhibitions from RAM’s collection and regularly presents lectures on contemporary craft around the country. He is a published writer and has served as a juror for over 150 national and international art competitions and fellowship awards including the US Artists and Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Awards. His latest publishing project is an essay for Quiet Elegance: The Jewelry of Eleanor Moty, published by aronldsche Art Publishers in 2020. In 2012, he was inducted as an Honorary Fellow into the American Craft Council’s College of Fellows and currently serves on the Council’s Board of Trustees.
